Bruce Clark delivered a very insightful and informative talk on the history of the Irish linen industry. He also talked about his own family’s involvement in Linen trading and production in the Maghera / Upperlands area. Bruce explained the technological advancements that heralded the explosive advances made in Irish flax growth and linen production in general. He also regaled the audience with many wonderful anecdotes concerning the main players in the field of Irish linen. He also, of course, discussed his own family’s involvement in the industry, both locally and on a world stage. Afterwards, Bruce entertained the crowd with a question and answer situation. A thoroughly enjoyable evening was had by all who attended.
